What’s Causing These Cold Spots in My Home?

It can be very frustrating to walk through your home and to notice that different rooms and areas of your house are at different temperatures. There are a lot of different reasons as to why your home may be heating unevenly, and many of them can be resolved relatively simply by a qualified heating technician. We present to you a few examples of some of the more common causes of uneven heating. If you have any questions regarding the condition of your home heating system, or if you believe that you need any sort of heating services in Washington, D.C., just give a member of our staff a call.

Damaged Ductwork

When you use ductwork in order to distribute heated and cooled air throughout your home, you are putting a lot of faith in that ductwork. Should it be compromised by air leaks, corrosion, or other issues, there is really no way in which you can expect that ductwork to distribute heated air evenly throughout the house. By properly sealing or repairing your air ducts, you may be able to enjoy great comfort in your living space, not to mention cutting down on heating and cooling costs.

Improper System Sizing

If you have always had trouble evenly heating your home, then it is possible that the home heating system just isn’t of the right size for your heating demands. This would be quite unfortunate, as there is really no way in which to resolve this problem other than replacing the heating system with an appropriately sized one.

Shoddy Insulation

Do you have trouble both heating and cooling your home evenly? If so, it could be that you have sub-par or damaged insulation. It may also not be of the right R-value, which measures its efficiency. Replacing the insulation, or adding to it, may be enough to resolve the problem.
